Café Handbag Thief Arrested

An off-duty police officer having a cup of coffee arrested a woman after he saw her leave the café with a stolen handbag.
Emma Price, 35, of Chatham Road, Battersea, who has previous theft convictions, admitted the theft at Wimbledon Magistrates’ Court. She was jailed for five months last Friday.

Police Praise Bag Theft Crackdown

a recent crackdown on bag snatches in Leicester city centre has been a success.

Handbag Thefts Are Ten Percent of All Crime

An study of crime in Brighton has lead to some interesting results.
Police have revealed that ten per cent of all recorded crime in central Brighton is in relation to lost or stolen mobile phones and handbags.
