Leather Handbags Stolen in Essex
From Essex Police:
Leather handbags that retail for about £1,000 and purses at £200 were stolen from a lorry parked on the Burnt Mills estate at Basildon overnight Sunday, January 14 and Monday, January 15, 2007. The bags are ‘Marc Jacobs’ brand and are usually sold through stores at the top end of the London market.

Retford supermarket Morrisons has teamed up with the police to raise awareness of handbag security to its customers.
On Thursday 25 January 2007, between 11am and 12.30pm, advice leaflets and purse bells will be handed out to customers in the store on Idle Valley Road.

£750 Handbag Helps Increase Sales

Demand for luxury handbags helped fashion retailer Burberry report a 25% rise in underlying revenues in the final quarter of last year. Sales at stores were up 13%. Bestsellers included the £750 Manor Handbag carried by supermodel Kate Mosss in a recent advertising campaign.
