Insurers are urging women to get their handbags covered and protect themselves against thieves.

One if five women in the UK have either lost their handbag or had it stolen. Research by Cornhill Direct shows that the average handbag on the nation’s high streets is worth £48.

The average purse costs £21, and women carry on average £33 worth of cash. Many also include a mobile phone - average value £96, MP3 player (£35), a make-up bag (£50), and other items. Continue reading at source.
