Warning over purse thefts in Mansfield

Police are urging Mansfield shoppers to be extra vigilant following a spate of purse thefts.
The unknown offenders appear to be randomly targeting different shops around Mansfield town centre and stealing purses out of handbags while the owners are unaware.
PC Neil Allsop said: “We are currently investigating 13 such crimes that have happened since the start of August, and are advising people to make sure their purses, mobile phones or any other valuable possessions are zipped away at the bottom of the bag to keep them secure.”
